With the huge interest in our foods from
overseas Elephant House participates in International events
taking our Burmese cuisine overseas to promote peoples awareness
of our foods. In 2003 Green Elephant Restaurant led by Cherie
Aung Khin and her sister Mimi were invited by the Tourist
Authority of India in association with Red Apple Travel, Le
Meridien Hotel Group and India Airlines, to promote a Myanmar
food festival and Burmese Cultural show across India at Le
Meridien Hotels in Mumbai, Puna, Bangalore, Madras and at the
last leg of the tour at New Dehli. The festivals was a huge
success for Green Elephant Restaurant and the people of Myanmar,
promoting traditional Burmese cuisine and cultural shows across
India including Burmese dancing and puppet shows. Green Elephant
Restaurant and its partners received huge credit from everyone
who participated in the food festivals.

Following on to the success of the 2003 in
India, Green Elephant Restaurant was invited to Karachi in
Pakistan to continue on where they had left in 2003 in India.
With a smaller festival organised, Cherie and
her sister Mimi once again left to promote Authentic Myanmar
cuisine overseas.

Future International Promotions
With so many foreign tourists from Europe from Italy, Spain,
France and England today travelling to Myanmar more and more
people are enjoy our foods. In the future we are looking for
partners to work with in promoting our food festivals in Europe
to give an opportunity to more Europeans to try our Burmese
dishes.
